For licensed providers

Register your daycare to accept drop-ins

Turn the seats that sit empty — a child out sick, a family on holiday, a four-year-old gone to TK — into booked days, without taking on a new enrollment or a new round of paperwork.

Free to list. You set your own rates, release only the seats you choose, and decide every booking.

Registration

What the portal asks you for

Have your license number to hand. Most programs are listed and taking requests the same afternoon.

  1. Create your provider account

Your name, your program's name and your California license number and type — small or large family child care home, or child care center. We check the licence against the state's published facility record.

  2. Describe your program

Address and hours, licensed capacity, the age groups you serve, and the details families filter on: languages spoken, outdoor play space, potty-training support, meals. This is what a family sees in search results.

  3. Set your services, sessions and rates

Link each drop-in service to the age group it accepts, choose the sessions you'll take — full day 8:00am–5:30pm, morning 8:00am–12:30pm, afternoon 12:30pm–5:30pm — and set your own day rate for each. Only age groups with an active linked service are shown to families.

  4. Release seats

Set a weekly pattern of how many seats you'll open per age group and session, then adjust single dates on the calendar: add a seat when a child is out, close a date entirely when you're on holiday. The portal flags a pattern that exceeds the free capacity you've entered.

  5. Accept requests and get paid

You see the child's age, allergy flags and record completeness before you decide. Accept, and the family's full Pass is shared with you and their payment is taken; decline, and nothing happens.

Capacity, honestly

An open seat isn't always a usable seat

In a family child care home, how many children you may have depends on their ages and on the mix already in care. That's why availability is released per age group and session rather than as a single number, and why the portal checks a weekly pattern against the free capacity you enter.

Questions

Registering and listing

Who can register?

Any program holding a current California child care license: small family child care homes, large family child care homes and child care centers. The network is densest in Santa Clara County, and programs elsewhere in California can register and list now.

Does it cost anything to list?

No. Registering, listing your program and releasing seats are free. There is one published fee schedule that applies to every member on the bookings they take, and you set your own day rates.

Am I committing to accept drop-ins?

No. You release only the seats you want, on the dates you choose, and you accept or decline each request. You can close a date or turn off drop-ins entirely at any time.

Does EnrollPass make admission decisions for me?

No. You are the licensee. EnrollPass delivers the parent's completed records in the format your license expects; reviewing them, admitting the child and keeping your own copies remain yours under Title 22.

Will families see my exact address?

Not in search. Listings show an approximate area and distance. Your address is shared with a family once you accept their booking.

Can other providers see my rates or occupancy?

No. Each member's pricing, availability and enquiries are private to that member. Booking rules are published and identical for everyone.

What about substitutes?

Members can share a pool of substitutes whose California criminal record clearances are associated with each facility in advance, using form LIC 9182, so cover is already cleared before it's needed. How clearance transfer works.
