For parents

Find drop-in care for a specific day

Search licensed daycares near you by date, age and session. You see what's genuinely open, what it costs and how far it is, before you ask anyone for anything.

You need a ready Pass before you can send a request, so set that up first if you haven't.

How it works

From search to a booked day

  1. Enter where and when

A ZIP code or your current location, the date you need, your child's age, whether you want a full day, a morning or an afternoon, and how far you're willing to travel.

  2. Compare what's actually open

Each result is a licensed program that has released a seat for that age group and session on that date, with its license number, distance, description and day rate. You can see them as a list or on a map.

  3. Send a request

Pick the session and confirm. The program sees your child's first name, age, allergy flags and record completeness, and the cancellation terms are shown to you before you pay.

  4. The provider accepts, and you're booked

On acceptance, your full Pass is shared with that program and your card is charged. If they don't accept, nothing is charged and you can withdraw the request at any point.

What you can search on

Narrow it to the care you'd actually accept

Distance

A ZIP code or your current location, with a radius you set. Listings show approximate distance; exact addresses come with a confirmed booking.

Date and session

One date at a time, or a whole range in the plan builder. Full day, morning or afternoon.

Age group

Only programs that have opened your child's age group appear, because capacity in a licensed home depends on the ages in care that day.

Type of program

Small and large family child care homes, centers and preschools — and camps, once camp support opens.

What matters to your child

Languages spoken, outdoor play space, potty-training support, and programs you've been to before.

Day rate

Each program's own price for the session, shown before you request, with the total and cancellation terms at confirmation.

What we won't pretend

Care is offered, not guaranteed

Every drop-in day is accepted by a licensed provider who decides whether it fits their license and the group of children in care that day. EnrollPass removes the paperwork and the phone calls. It does not override anyone's judgement, and it can't conjure a seat that doesn't exist.

Questions

Searching and booking

How do I find drop-in daycare near me?

Search by ZIP code and date in the EnrollPass parent app. Results show licensed family child care homes and small centers within the distance you choose that have released a drop-in seat for your child's age group on that date, with each program's own session times and day rate.

Can I book for the same day?

Yes, if a program has a seat open for that date and accepts your request. Because every request is accepted by a person, same-day care is never guaranteed — booking known closure days early is far more reliable.

What are the session times?

Programs list a full day (8:00am–5:30pm), a morning (8:00am–12:30pm) and an afternoon (12:30pm–5:30pm), and choose which of those they take drop-ins for and at what rate.

How do I know a program is legitimate?

Every listing shows the program's California license number and type, and you can look up its licensing and inspection history yourself on the Department of Social Services facility search.

Can I book several days at once?

Yes. The plan builder takes a date range — a break week, for example — shows which days each child still has no care, and lets you add programs day by day and send the requests together.

What if I need to cancel?

Each booking shows its cancellation terms before you confirm and pay, and you can cancel or withdraw a pending request from the bookings screen.

Is there anything in my area?

The network is densest in Santa Clara County, California. If nothing is listed where you searched, the app tells you so, and lets you recommend a daycare you'd like to see join or ask to be notified when programs near you come online.
