For parents · about 10 minutes

Create your child's Pass

The Pass is the enrollment record a licensed California daycare needs before it can admit your child. Fill it in once, sign it once, and it's ready to send with any drop-in request you make.

Free. You'll need about ten minutes and a photo of your child's immunization record.

The Pass in the parent app at app.enrollpass.com. California form numbers shown.

Step by step

What happens when you set one up

  1. Create your account and add your children

Each child's name, date of birth and whether they're in transitional kindergarten, plus your home ZIP code. You can add more than one child and reuse everything that's the same between them.

  2. Fill in the six records

Emergency and identification information (LIC 700), consent for medical treatment (LIC 627), the parents' rights acknowledgement (LIC 995A), your child's immunization record (CDPH 286), allergies and medications, and the adults authorized to collect your child. The assistant can copy a sibling's answers, read details off a photo of your insurance card or immunization record, and tell you what's still missing.

  3. Review and sign

You check the answers on each form, type your name as an electronic signature and confirm the information is current. Nothing is shared with anyone at this point.

  4. Your Pass is ready

A ready Pass is what lets you request a drop-in day. From here you can search for care, plan a week of closure days, or keep the Pass on file until you need it.

Before you start

Have these to hand

Nothing here has to be typed from scratch. The assistant reads most of it from a photo and asks you to confirm.

Questions

Setting up a Pass

How long does it take to set up a Pass?

Most parents finish in about ten minutes per child, less for a second child in the same family. The longest part is usually the immunization record, so have a photo of it to hand.

Do I need a doctor to sign anything?

No. The California enrollment forms a licensed program needs before admission are completed and signed by the parent or guardian. Your child's physician, dentist and health plan are recorded as contact information.

What if I don't have everything yet?

You can save a partial Pass and come back. The app shows which of the six records are outstanding, and you need a complete one before you can send a drop-in request.

Does a ready Pass mean a daycare has to take my child?

No, and we won't claim otherwise. A Pass means the paperwork a licensed program needs is complete and ready to share. The provider still reviews it and decides whether it can accept the booking, based on its license, the children in care that day and its own policies.

Can I use a Pass outside California?

The Pass is built on California's enrollment forms, so programs in our network use it as-is. If you live elsewhere, you can still set one up, but there may be no listed programs near you yet.

What does it cost to create a Pass?

Nothing. Creating a Pass and searching for care are free. You pay the program's own rate for a session you book, and only if the provider accepts your request.
